Multifunctional Gate Box

EUCHNER’s MGB (Multifunctional Gate Box) is a unique interlocking or guard locking system for the protection of safety doors on machines and systems. It is more than a safety switch, more than a bolt, and offers a lot more functionality. The MGB will work on both hinged and sliding doors. The basic system comprising of the handle module and interlocking/locking module includes numerous functions. Guard locking, escape release or other functions such as buttons for start/stop and Emergency stop are available. The recently updated version is equipped with changeable color lenses for pushbuttons, allowing the customer to use their desired colors. And with its modular design, an MGB control module can be added to function as a small operator panel.

EUCHNER’s MGBS combines a RFID locking switch, handle, and operator functions into an all-in-one sleek slim design.

The MGB safety system can be connected to almost any safety relay or to any safety control system. With a safety control system, the short circuit monitoring on the safety control system must be disabled as this function is performed by the MGB. Performance Level e is retained.

MGB WITH ETHERNET/IP EUCHNER’s MGB with Ethernet/IP: The MGB basic system already contains everything what is needed to protect a safety guard in PLe/category 4 according to EN ISO 13849-1. In the EtherNet/IP version, we now also make the wiring easier for you. You define which element is to be integrated and the related function. The MGB supplies the protocol frame with the necessary CIP Safety input and output bytes required. Whether interlocking, guard locking, escape release or other fuctions such as push buttons for start/stop, emergency stop, etc. – The MGB meets all your requirements for safety-related applications. And if your needs grow, the MGB system grows with them. Due to the sophisticated modular design, the evaluation modules can quickly become a small operator panel. Comprehensive diagnostic information in the form of EtherNet/IP messages provides a fast and detailed overview of the device status. In the PROFINET version we are additionally relieving you of time consuming wiring now. You define, which functionality is required and simply integrate the required elements to achieve your wishes.
