Unifying Expertise, History, and Innovation to Redefine Motion Control
In June of 2023, Womack Machine Supply and Morrell Group made the momentous decision to join forces and become one company. Over the past year, we have been working hard to become one engineering partner, one systems integrator, one value-added distributor; one expert, excellent, and experienced partner for our customers across the country. When Evolution in Controls met and talked with Womack Group’s CEO, Matt Oldroyd, about this integration, he spoke of the steps necessary to becoming one company as we developed the path ahead. In this episode, Matt joins host Tim Wilson once more to talk again about the last step of the integration process that completes the transition from two companies into one—a step that introduces a new company built upon the histories of Womack and Morrell, a step that introduces Evolution Motion Solutions.
Although quite similar to the podcast name, Evolution Motion Solutions was not named after Evolution in Controls. Rather, it results from countless hours spent creating names, playing with words, and understanding how we truly wanted to represent the company with this new brand. Matt explains, “[The name] Evolution is something that truly represents who we need to be, who we will be in the future” as we create something new as one company, built upon the 100 years of brand history and equity of our predecessor companies. As the world of motion control continuously develops, we, too, must evolve as a company and further our platform of growth, capabilities, and technical expertise that will really make a difference for us, our partners, and our customers moving forward.
Though this new name and brand are exciting, it’s important to note that the technical excellence we are built upon is not going away. Evolution is taking what we already have, which has served our customers and industries all over the country so well, and making it better. The opportunities that have opened up for every team across the company over the last year to provide our customers with even better service and solutions are proof of how Evolution is the beginning of something new that is founded on the ethos our predecessor companies.
