What started as a small business in the ’50s creating machine tooling technology quickly developed into a leader of safety technology. Today, safety makes up over 80% of Euchner’s core offering, and for good reason. Their leading technology today is the innovative MGB2, a gate box that stores all buttons and locks for multi-functional machines. This product leads the way for its modularity, expandability, and communication.
A typical gate box features a fixed number of buttons in a set position, so if you wanted to change something, you’d have to remove the entire box and start over. The MGB2 instead features specific slices within the box, and each slide can be customized in nearly every way possible, based on what the machine requires and what operators prefer. So, if a change is needed, simply swap out the slice instead of the entire box. This same feature also means it’s easily recoverable from any failures—modules are quick and easy to replace and don’t require removing the entire lock box. Additionally, the MGB2 will be launching Ethernet IP connectivity to expand its capabilities. The communication aspect of the MGB2 features a separate bus module from the box, which can feed up to 6 doors at once.
