MICO® Brake Valves are designed for use on vehicles with open center, closed center, or load sensing hydraulic systems. These systems can be designed to take advantage of existing hydraulic power.
Some of the different types of hydraulic brake valves MICO has to offer include accumulator charging valves, modulating valves, full power valves, park brake valves, relay valves, and steering assist valves.
Accumulator Charging Valves
Designed for mobile equipment with varying pump flows. System pressures to 3,000 PSI and flow through capacities to 65 GPM. Uses power developed in the main hydraulic system. May be remotely mounted from brake valves.
Park Brake Valves
Controls on/off function of spring apply/hydraulic release parking brake. Automatically applies parking brake in the event of pressure loss.
Pressure Modulating Valves
Available in poppet or spool designs with a variety of actuation types. Modulating output pressures up to 3,000 PSI. Can be adapted to open center, closed center, and load sensing hydraulic systems.
Brake Valves
MICO® Modulating Hydraulic Power Brake Valves provide directional control of brake system pressure. They also provide the operator with a “pedal feel” proportional to brake system pressure. these valves are designed for use with vehicles that are equipped with other hydraulic power devices. This feature eliminates the need for a separate power brake unit or separate hydraulic fluid system. There are single valves for single brake systems, tandem valves for split brake systems, valves with pilot sections, and reverse modulating valves. MICO offers modulating valves in a spool design and a poppet design. Although there are inherent benefits to both, the spool design provides lower hysteresis while the poppet disign provides very low leakage. Modulating valves can be operated by pedal, lever, cable, cam, pilot pressure, and electro-mehcanical devices.
Relay Valves
A closed center design used for modulating output pressures up to 300 PSI. Can be adapted to a variety of hydraulic systems. Power off braking through limited stored energy in the accumulator(s).
MICO also makes a hydraulic over air relay valve. These valves output air pressure in proportion to the hydraulic input pressure. Hydraulic input pressure, from a component such as a master cylinder or hydraulic control valve, sends a pilot signal to the relay valve to moderate air brake pressure.
