Starting Simple: The Gear Pump That Opened the Door
In late 2023, a customer came to us looking for a uniquely durable, high-pressure gear pump and motor for a new application. Our team collaborated with them and settled on components from Geartek —an industry-respected manufacturer known for precision-built components with true pressure ratings up to 4,000 psi.
With Geartek’s reputation for reliability, customizability, and exceptional delivery, their gear pumps proved a great fit for the project’s needs, but their initial ask sparked a broader conversation. The customer shared that they were in early development of a mid-mount boom tractor designed to handle vegetation in hard-to-reach areas. They needed more than parts—they needed a partner who could help bring their vision into the field.
Design Collaboration and Pilot Success
Evolution’s team partnered directly with the customer’s engineers to refine the system design and select the best-fit components. From hydraulic strategy to control interface, Evolution contributed technical expertise, sourcing support, and integration guidance to help the concept become a working prototype.
By spring 2024, three pilot machines were actively being tested in the field. Full production is set to begin in June 2025.
